ONLINE RESOURCES

With anything, one of the first things I do is check to see if there is an enthusiast forum. Typically when something comes out, you have someone who starts a forum for it. Sometimes not. Other times especially when older equipment, a lot of those forums don't exist anymore.

The first online resource is the good old Yahoo! Ensoniq ASR-10/EPS/EPS16 User Group:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Ensoniq-ASR10-EPS16/info

These older Yahoo! User Groups are great resources for a lot of enthuiast level information.

The second online resource is for replacement parts, and factory service! That's right. When Ensoniq was taken over by EMU (Whom at that time was Creative Labs) and shut down, the previous management unloaded all the repair stock on a few now ex-employees who wished to continue servicing equipment, letting them make their own business out of it (This might not be 100% accurate of how it happened, but it's what I was told how it happened).

Syntaur, is where I purchased my replacement display/keypad board and face plate:

You can also search the "Other Samplers and Beat Machines" forum at:

http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewforum.php?f=42

Another valuable resource is a set of Tutorial Videos specifically for the Ensoniq EPS 16+ that covers everything you will need to know to really get started. These are fully in-depth tutorials, professional quality! I'm not posting these in the videos section of this article, as that's more for checking out the units in action and inspiration. Not resources.

Here are the Tutorial Videos:

1. Ensoniq EPS 16+ Sampling Tutorial Part 1

2. Ensoniq EPS 16+ Sampling Tutorial Part 2

3. Ensoniq EPS 16+ Effects / Bus / Parallel FX Tutorial

4. Ensoniq EPS 16+ Advanced Effects Tutorial

5. Ensoniq EPS 16+ Sequencer Tutorial
